Big Match Predictor: Can Messi & Co. Turn Their Fortunes Around?

Group D: Tunisia vs Australia (26/11, 12pm SAST)

Tunisia:

- Tunisia are ranked 30th in the world, according to FIFA. Their recent results read: WWWLD.

- The Carthage Eagles drew 0-0 with Denmark in their first match. They created 0.92 expected goals to 1.60 expected goals conceded.

- Captain Youssef Msakni and Aissa Laidouni were impressive in midfield against Denmark. The latter won five of six ground duels.

- Tunisia have won once in their last 13 World Cup matches.

Australia:

- Australia are placed 38th in the FIFA World Rankings. Their most recent results read: WDWWL.

- The Socceroos scored with their only shot on target against France.

Predicted Result: A very tight game awaits. A DRAW looks the likely outcome.

Group C: Poland vs Saudi Arabia (26/11, 3pm SAST)

Poland:

- Poland are the number 26-ranked team in the world. Their form guide is: LLWWD.

- Robert Lewandowski had a penalty saved against Mexico but remains the key man with 76 goals for Poland.

- The Poles need a win in this match as they face Argentina in their final fixture in what could be a tight group.

- Their recent World Cup history has seen three group-stage exits in a row, with one win in each tournament (2002, 2006 and 2018).

Saudi Arabia:

- Saudi Arabia beat Argentina in their first match despite being ranked 51st in the world. Their recent results are: DWDLW.

- Their key player is midfielder Salem Al-Dawsari, who scored the winner against Argentina.

- The Saudis had no first-half shots against Argentina, but scored from two of their three second-half attempts.

- Herve Renard's side are looking to get out of the group for the first time in five World Cups.

Predicted Result: DRAW. This looks set to be very hard-fought.

Group D: France vs Denmark (26/11, 6pm SAST)

France:

- Les Bleus sit 4th in the FIFA World Rankings. Their last five matches have seen: DLWDW.

- Olivier Giroud's brace against Australia took him to 51 international goals. France are missing numerous injured players, with Lucas Hernandez the latest to join the absentee list.

- France have played Denmark twice in 2022, losing both fixtures.

- Didier Deschamps' side have won seven of their last eight World Cup matches.

Denmark:

- The Danes are the 10th-ranked side in the world. Their form guide reads: LWLWD.

- Denmark had 61% possession in their 0-0 draw with Tunisia and produced 1.60 expected goals.

- Key man Christian Eriksen had 89 touches against Tunisia and created five chances.

- Denmark are winless in four World Cup matches, drawing all of them.

Predicted Result: France WIN. Denmark lacked cutting edge vs Tunisia and may not be able stop Kylian Mbappe.

Group C: Argentina vs Mexico (26/11, 9pm SAST)

Argentina:

- Argentina are third in the FIFA world rankings. Their recent results read as follows: WWWWL.

- Their 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia ended a 36-match unbeaten run going back over two years.

- Lionel Messi scored a penalty against Saudi Arabia. He had four shots in the match and created three chances.

- La Albiceleste have lost four of their last six World Cup matches going back to the 2014 final.

Mexico:

- The Mexican team rank 13th in the FIFA World Rankings. WLWLD are their last five results.

- In attack, Wolverhampton Wanderers' Raul Jimenez could be set to start after a substitute outing against Croatia.

- Mexico have lost three of their six most recent matches. Guillermo Ochoa saved a penalty in the 0-0 draw with Poland on Tuesday.

- Mexico are winless in three World Cup fixtures (two losses), without scoring a goal.

Predicted Result: Argentina WIN. This is a must-win game for Argentina, who created plenty of chances in the defeat to Saudi Arabia.
