The 33-year-old was in inspirational form as he captained his side to an away victory over the Italian champions, assisting a goal and scoring one of his own from the penalty spot in the last minute of the match.
Speaking after the clash, former AC Milan and Inter Milan forward Vieri called Messi the "Harry Potter of soccer" and suggested there will be no point watching the sport anymore once the Argentina talisman hangs up his boots.
"An amazing Barcelona, there was no game," he told CBS Sports.
"They could've scored six, seven goals easy. They played fantastic.
"Messi is a magician, he's the Harry Potter of soccer, and when he stops playing, I'm throwing my TVs away.
"I'm not going to work no more on TV, I'm going to watch Netflix, that's it, because when he stops there's nothing else to watch."
