With the previous decade having ended a month ago, here are the players who scored the most league goals during the 2010s. While no one came close to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, there is an African superstar in the top 10!

Messi is at the top of the ranking, having netted an incredible 369 LaLiga goals between 2010 and the end of 2019.
He is followed by Ronaldo, who scored 335 league goals during his stints with Real Madrid in LaLiga and Juventus in Serie A.

Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani completes the podium, having netted 223 times in league football during his spells at Palermo, Napoli and PSG. He is followed by Robert Lewandowski, who finished the decade with just two goals less than the Uruguayan.
FC Barcelona's Luis Suarez is the fifth and final player who finished the decade with more than 200 strikes, ending on 210 goals, while Sergio Aguero missed the 200-goal mark by just one strike.

Other high-profile forwards such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain are also among the top 10, while Gabon superstar Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the only African that features – click through the gallery to see the full ranking!
