The 8 Stars Who've Won FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League & Ballon d'Or

Ronaldinho

Only Luka Modric managed to break Ronaldo and Messi's reign at the top of world football when he lifted the Golden Ball in 2018.

However, despite all their laurels, the Argentine and the Portuguese are yet to win arguably the biggest trophy in the game, with the World Cup having eluded both of them thus far.

Messi came close in 2014, when Argentina lost 1-0 after extra-time to Germany in the final. As a consequence, the Albiceleste captain is yet to win a senior trophy with his country, while Ronaldo has claimed the 2016 UEFA European Championship and the 2019 UEFA Nations League trophies with Portugal.

However, neither Ronaldo nor Messi qualify for a very exclusive club of just eight players who have lifted the World Cup, the Champions League and the Ballon d'Or. Ronaldinho is one of three Brazilians on the illustrious list, winning the World Cup in 2002, the Ballon d'Or in 2005 and the UCL in 2005/06 with FC Barcelona.

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane also forms is also part of the club, having won World Cup and Ballon d'Or in 1998 before adding the UCL trophy with Los Blancos in the 2001/02 campaign.

Germany legends Gerd Muller and Franz Beckenbauer also feature – you can see the complete eight in the gallery above!
