The Spanish top flight has featured many of the world's greatest footballers over the years, including Messi, Ronaldo, Andres Iniesta and Raul Gonzalez.
Sportskeeda have now rated their 10 best La Liga players ever, and some may be surprised by the order of the ranking.
Real Madrid legend Francisco Gento has been rated as the league's best player ever, most likely due to the fact that he won 12 La Liga titles, while Messi follows in second place.
Alfredo Di Stefano, Xavi Hernandez and Iniesta are the next three names on the list, with all of them having won the same number of league titles as Messi – eight.
FC Barcelona legend Laszlo Kubala follows in sixth place, while Michael Laudrup follows, even though he won one more La Liga title than Kubala.

Ronaldinho is eighth on the list with his two La Liga title wins, while Portugal captain Ronaldo and legendary striker Raul, who made 550 La Liga appearances, follow him in ninth and 10th place, respectively.
