Former Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard has named his dream 5-a-side team, but couldn't find a place in his line-up for Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Gerrard was speaking to former Reds teammate Jamie Carragher on The Greatest Game Podcast when he revealed his ideal side, which includes Juve 'keeper Gianluigi Buffon, former AC Milan defender Paolo Maldini, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo was a notable absentee from the England centurion's selection, and he took time to explain why he had decided to include long-time rival Messi ahead of the former Manchester United and Real Madrid star.

"There are certain players who are on a different level to anyone else out there, Messi and Ronaldo," Gerrard said.
"But Ronaldo doesn't get in my team. I am more about what you are going to do for the team. He will win you things, but I am more about a team player than an individual player."

Gerrard spent 17 seasons with Liverpool, winning no fewer than nine major honours, and made 710 appearances for the club during his time at Anfield.
