The Champions League seems to be the competition where Ronaldo can always step it up a level. He currently sits on 14 UCL goals this season and his brace in the 3-0 win over Juventus saw him break Ruud van Nistelrooy's all-time record after scoring in his tenth successive game.

Ronaldo is also the current all-time record scorer in the Champions League with 119 strikes, while he also has his name in the history books for most goals in a single campaign.

However, given his current form he could even outscore the 17 goals he scored in 2013/14. Unless a major upset in the return fixture against Juventus, who would have to overturn a three-goal deficit at the santiago Bernabeu, Ronaldo will have at least three more games to add onto his tally for the current campaign.

The 33-year-old set another record during the group stages this campaign, becoming the first player to find the back of the net in all six group stage games.

Ronaldo particularly seems to up his game in the knockout stages, where he has scored 58 goals, which is 20 more than second-placed Lionel Messi at this stage of the competition.

His brace against Juventus also extended his record of most goals in quarter-final history and he has now netted 22 times at this stage, 12 more than Messi and Raul Gonzales, who share the second place.

Finally, during last year's final Ronaldo also became the first player to score in three Champions League finals.
