According to reports in Italy, Jorge Messi will be in Milan in August to negotiate his son's potential transfer to Inter Milan.

Radio Rai journalist Filippe Grassi seemingly broke the news, which then spiralled out across other media outlets in Italy, as per Sempre Inter.

Messi's father, who is also his agent, is set to move to Milan on 1 August after purchasing an apartment in the city.

The news came after Cadena SER claimed that Messi is fed up with leaks coming out of Barcelona suggesting he is responsible for decisions he had nothing to do with.

In addition, he is said to doubt that the Blaugrana still have a winning project and, as a consequence, has put contract extension talks on hold.

This is not the first time the Barcelona captain has been linked with a move to Inter, with the Nerazzurri having already attempted to sign him when he was still a teenager.

Marco Tronchetti Provera, the CEO of the Serie A club's main sponsor Pirelli, recently indicated that his company could help the Serie A giants make the transfer happen.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, however, Inter have denied the rumours, and it has been stated that Jorge Messi is moving to Milan for tax purposes after laws implemented in 2017 that help foreigners pay less tax than in other countries.

Those tax laws, though, would also count for Messi, who has clashed with Spanish taxation authorities in the past, with the Argentina talisman even receiving a suspended prison sentence for tax fraud as a result.

This are also understood to be among the reasons why Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Italy, and it remains to be seen the Juventus superstar's longstanding rival will follow.
