Chelsea legend Petr Cech has boasted about his record against FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
The goalkeeper, who later played for Arsenal, lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy back in 2012 while featuring for the Blues, and was also a part of the team that lost to Barca in a controversial semi-final tie in 2009.
However, Cech is quite proud of his record against the Argentine, believing that he came out on top in their individual duels over the years.
"He missed penalties, I made saves, he hit the post, but he never scored past me at Chelsea. It was a pleasure to keep a clean sheet against him.
"When he had the penalty in the Nou Camp in 2012, that was a defining moment."
Cech, who may not have put his glove to the ball at that moment, also revealed the work that went into getting into Messi's head, which seemingly resulted in the ball hitting the crossbar.
"I was thinking about what he could do, what he would do. So my strategy was to wait and wait until I could see where he was going to hit it," he added.
"So when I moved the way he was going to strike the ball, he knew he had to go high to beat me – but he went too high and it struck the bar."
