'Lunch At Cristiano Ronaldo's House Was Boring!'

Ex-Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra has revealed that having lunch at Cristiano Ronaldo's house was "boring".

The former France international played alongside the Portugal captain at the Red Devils between 2006 and 2009, with the pair sharing a special bond on and off the field.

Known for his hardcore professionalism, Ronaldo has a strict diet that he adheres to in order to maintain the healthy lifestyle that has helped him stay at the highest level for many years.

Speaking recently about what it is like to go to the United forward's house for lunch, Evra hilariously shared that Ronaldo's drive to be the best means that an afternoon meal could turn into a training session.

"Cristiano, first of all, as a person and human being, is so generous, so nice and people don't see that face. But he is a winner. He is addicted," he told talkSPORT.

"For example, when we had training at 10am, Cristiano was already there for 8am. When we had finished training, he was still on the pitch practising.

"When he invited me for lunch… don't ever go for lunch, because you are going to have one of the most boring lunches at Cristiano's; it is salad, plain chicken and water. There isn't even fizzy water.

"After that, we went into the garden, trained for a little bit, went swimming, went to the sauna and at one point I looked at him and said: 'Bro, we have just finished a training session, why do we have to a second training session?'"

After a difficult first few months at United, Evra went on to establish himself as one of the best left-backs to have played for the club, making 379 appearances and winning 14 trophies during his time at Old Trafford.
