The Uruguay striker played his 100th Barcelona game in their 2-1 defeat to newly promoted Alaves on the weekend.

Even though he failed to find the back of the net in the game, he still became the club's most prolific goalscorer in his first 100 appearances for the Catalan giants.

Suarez scored 88 goals in his first 100 matches since joining the Blaugrana from Liverpool for €81.72 million (R1.3 billion).

He bettered Eto'o's record of 68 strikes in his first 100 games in the Barca shirt, while Neymar netted 58 in his first century, according to Metro.

Brazil legend Rivaldo follows with 57 strikes, ahead of Patrick Kluivert (52) and Thierry Henry (46).

Ronaldinho, who was not the most prolific goalscorer, scored 44 goals in his first 100 games for the club, while Messi – starting his senior career as a 17-year-old – netted 41 goals in the same number of matches.
