The Argentine scored the late winner against Diego Simeone's side with a rebound from his initial missed penalty to give Barcelona a first-leg advantage.
However, he was also once again seen throwing up on the pitch, as has occurred on several occasions last season.
Both his Argentina and Barcelona coaches have continuously tried to downplay Messi's stomach problem, but it seems to be a recurring phenomen.

The 27-year-old has undergone a battery of tests to determine the cause of his vomiting during games, but so far there is no real explanation.
Doctors and coaches alike had put the problem down to anxiety or too much pressure on Messi's shoulders, but Marca now suggests it could be due to chronic sinusitis.
