How FC Barcelona captain Lionel Messi felt after losing 4-1 to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night has reportedly been revealed.
Argentine journalist Sergio Gonzalez, speaking on TV show El Chiringuito, has claimed the 33-year-old's future in Spain could very well be coming to an end ahead of next season.
While Messi's contract in Spain expires in June, he has been heavily linked with Manchester City and the French giants, who defeated the Catalan giants 4-1 at the Camp Nou in the first leg of their round of 16 tie earlier this week.
Gonzalez is understood to have stated on the TV show that Messi is closer to City than he is to Barcelona following the clash against Les Parisiens, which left the Albiceleste talisman with a feeling of "brutal anger".
The journalist is said to be close to the six-time Ballon d'Or winner's entourage, which appears to give his claim credibility.
Messi reportedly went close to joining Pep Guardiola's Citizens at the beginning of the season, but was ultimately forced to stay at the Camp Nou by former club president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who later stepped down from his post.
The LaLiga club's record goalscorer will reportedly only make a final decision on his future after the Blaugrana's presidential election, which was postponed in January due to the coronavirus pandemic, is completed.
