Following the 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad, and the alleged dressing room spat with coach Luis Enrique, Messi has almost singlehandedly pushed his side to new heights.
He first scored one goal and assisted another in the convincing 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid - which earned him a 9.79 Whoscored rating.
In the next match, at Deportivo La Coruna, he scored a hat trick and received a 10 rating (the highest possible) for his show.
The Argentine continued his resurgence with two goals and two assists in the 6-0 at Elche, which earned him another 10 rating.
In the 3-2 victory over Villareal, he scored the winner and received a 9.1 rating, which was his weakest over the last five games.
Finally, his goal and two assists in this weekend's 5-2 victory over Athletic Bilbao earned him a 9.74 rating.
Overall, he has scored eight goals and assisted a further five for his teammates - while getting an impressive 9.72 average rating over these five games.

Following their Copa del Rey clash against Villareal tonight, Messi and Barcelona will next face Levante in La Liga at home.
The Catalan giants won the first round match 5-0, where Messi scored one goal and set up another two - resulting in him taking the Man of the Match award and a 9.61 rating.
