The Argentine and the Portuguese are widely regarded as the two best players in the world, but how have they fared since the former Manchester United forward joined Los Blancos?
From the 2009/10 season, when Ronaldo signed for Real, until now, Messi has hit the back of the net 338 times for the Catalan giants across all competitions, and assisted a further 146 strikes.
In the same period, Ronaldo has scored 321 goals for Los Blancos, and has contributed with 104 assists, meaning he has scored 17 goals less than Messi since he became the world's most expensive player with his move to Spain.
The two stars have often been compared to one another, especially as they are key players for Barcelona and Real Madrid, arguably one of the biggest rivalries in world football.
Messi has a total of 418 goals for Barcelona since his debut in 2004, meaning he scored 80 goals before Ronaldo's arrival at Real.
The Portugal forward found the net 118 times in 291 games for the Red Devils.
