People prefer to watch FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi over "genius" Cristiano Ronaldo, according to one of the Argentine's club teammates.
Ronaldo: Stop Whistling At Me!
The Portuguese has stolen all the headlines in recent weeks with his stunning performances in the knockout stages of the UEFA Champions League, the latest coming on Tuesday against city rivals Atletico Madrid, against whom he scored a hat-trick.
Blaugrana defender Jordi Alba has praised Ronaldo for his achievements this season, but ultimately feels that Messi is the better player.
"I don't know who decides the Ballon d'Or winner, or the best in the world," Alba said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.
"Everybody has their own opinion. At one point, Xavi or (Andres) Iniesta should have won it.
"You already know my opinion, because, to me, Leo Messi is the best player in the world.
"Cristiano is a great player who scores many goals. He's a genius, if I said it any other way I'd be lying.
"To watch on the pitch... I think people prefer Leo, it doesn't matter which team you support."
Rio: Ronaldo Told Me The Secret To His Success
Messi currently leads the La Liga goalscoring charts with 33 goals, while Ronaldo has netted 20 in 26 league appearances for Los Blancos this campaign.
