Real Madrid superstar Karim Benzema has discussed his previous partnership with five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Frenchman and Portuguese both joined Los Blancos in 2009, with Benzema arriving from Lyon in France and Ronaldo arriving from Manchester United in England.
Together, Benzema and Ronaldo formed an important understanding on the field, helping inspire the Spanish giants to countless trophies, including four UEFA Champions Leagues.
Speaking about playing alongside the now Juventus forward, Benzema admitted to having to adapt to Ronaldo's style of play but said he was happy to adjust.
"Cristiano's departure allowed me to play a different role," he told El Pais.
"He scored 50 goals every year and you had to adapt to his game.
"He is one of the best in the world and I was happy by his side."
Benzema has scored 160 goals and created a further 140 strikes in 541 matches for Real since his switch from Lyon, winning 18 pieces of silverware.
