The Albiceleste will take on the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of the tournament on Friday night, with the winner set to go up against the victor of the last eight encounter between Brazil and Croatia.
Former Selecao forward Fred, who represented the South Americans at the 2006 and 2014 World Cups, is confident his country will advance past the losing 2018 finalists, and is hopeful of meeting Argentina in the next round.
"I want the Brazil-Argentina semi-final," he told ESPN.
"I want confusion, turmoil, Neymar's pen, Messi crying."
Argentina's clash against the Dutch is scheduled to be the second quarter-final on Friday, with Brazil set to do battle with Croatia in the early kick-off.
