Read: Ronaldinho Officially Released From Prison
The Brazil legend was released from prison this week after spending over a month in a Paraguayan jail for being caught with a fake passport.
The prosecutors of his case agreed to $1.6 million (R29 million) bail payment for Ronaldinho and his brother Roberto Assis, who have to remain in house arrest in a Paraguayan hotel.
New claims by TNT suggested Messi did transfer the money to bail out his former teammate after it was allegedly being paid from an account in Barcelona.

However, the Argentine, whose representatives already dismissed the notion Messi could become involved in Ronaldinho's bail payment three weeks ago, has labelled the story as fake news on his Instagram account.
"What they said in this same newspaper about Newell's (Old Boys) a few weeks ago was also false," Messi posted on social media along with a screenshot of TNT Sports' tweet.
"Thank goodness that nobody believes them anymore."

TNT had also reported that Messi, along with Argentine starlet Thiago Almada, will join Inter Milan, but the FC Barcelona captain also dismissed this story.
