The Spaniard named Petr Cech, Sergio Ramos, Steven Gerrard, Andres Iniesta and David Villa in his team, and explained why he selected each player.
"Cech showed me how a goalkeeper can win a Champions League final in 2012," Torres told UEFA's official website.
"At the back, Ramos because of his character and friendship.
"Then, of course, Gerrard – the best teammate I played with – and Iniesta, the most talented player Spain have produced.
"Up front, Villa – a fantastic player who is always there when you need him."
Torres, who is now on the books of Atletico Madrid, for whom he came through as a youth product, has played with each star he named in his side.
