With his appearance in his side's meeting over Huesca on Monday, Messi has now featured 767 times for the Catalan club and has therefore equalled Xavi's appearance record for Barcelona, according to Transfermarkt.
The history-maker joined the Blaugrana in 2000 from his boyhood club in Argentina Newell's Old Boys, before breaking through into the club's first team in the 2004/05 season.
Since then, Messi has smashed almost every possible record in a Barcelona shirt, while he has also claimed six Ballons d'Or along the way.
