Ex-Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala has revealed he told his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo that he once hated him due to his love for Lionel Messi.

After a successful seven-year stay at the Bianconeri between 2015 and 2022, the 29-year-old completed a surprise free-agent switch to Jose Mourinho's Roma at the beginning of this season.
Despite suffering from injuries, Dybala has impressed in Rome since, contributing to 24 goals in 34 appearances and strengthening the club's ambitions to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
In Turin, Dybala spent three seasons alongside five-time Ballon d'Or winner Ronaldo after the Portuguese forward arrived for a club-record fee from Real Madrid in 2018, becoming one of a few fortunate players to have shared a dressing room with both him and Messi.
The Argentine has now revealed he once, on a flight ahead of a match, told Ronaldo that he "practically hated" him in his childhood due to the intense rivalry he shared with his Albiceleste teammate.
"I spent three nice years with Cristiano, the team was very strong and he added something more," he told DAZN.
"There's a big rivalry between Messi and Ronaldo in Argentina. Once, we were flying out for a game, I was sitting at the back of the plane and he was slightly ahead.
"At some point, he came to me, we spoke about life in general for a while, and I told him: 'As a kid, I practically hated you.'

"We laughed about it and we've always been on good terms."
