Danilo Pereira Was Fuming With His Paris Saint-Germain Teammate Lionel Messi For Not Tracking Back

Footage has emerged showing one of Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain teammates getting angry at the forward for slacking in his defensive duties against Real Madrid last week.

Danilo Pereira had to take one for the team during PSG's round of 16 clash with Real Madrid last Tuesday, when he received a yellow card for fouling Vinicius Junior who had just initiated a counter-attack for Los Blancos.

The genesis of the counter was a short corner Les Parisiens had tried to play. The cross failed to clear the first man and fortuitously fell to the feet of the young Brazilian.

Messi put in a half-hearted challenge in order to regain possession, but the Los Blancos winger glided easily past the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner.

Following his attempted tackle, the Argentine was seen walking on his way back to defend.

It was as Vinicius was threatening to make in-roads into the Ligue 1 giants' half that Danilo's intervention was required, making a tactical foul to stop any attacking potential Real had in that moment.

Once he got up from the challenge, the Portugal midfielder could be seen fuming at the Argentina captain, angrily reacting to the lack of effort he had put in after the ball had been lost in a dangerous phase of play, as could be seen in a video clip posted by RMC Sports.

Messi did not have the best of games in that clash at the Parc des Prince as he also had a penalty saved by Thibaut Courtois, but Kylian Mbappe secured the match-winner in the 94th minute of the tie to save his teammate's blushes.

The former Barcelona captain will be looking to make amends when the two sides collide again on 9 March at the Santiago Bernabeu to see who goes through to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
