Real Madrid failed to win the La Liga title, but Cristiano Ronaldo finished the league as top goal-scorer – here are his unbelievable overall statistics this season.

The Portuguese star finished the campaign on 48 league goals in 35 games, with an average ratio of 1.37 goals per game – he missed one game due to injury and two due to suspension.

In addition, he has also assisted in 16 league goals for his teammates, which is the second-most in La Liga behind Lionel Messi.

Of his 48 goals, he has scored an unbelievable eight hat-tricks – including one quintuple and one quadruple, four braces and a single goal 13 times, while failing to hit the back of the net on ten occasions.

He scored ten penalties and missed two in the league this season.

Ronaldo started the campaign in breath-taking manner, scoring 28 goals in the first 18 games, before falling into a little mid-season dip where he only scored four goals in eight games. However, he finished the season strong again, after scoring 18 goals in his last ten league games.

The 30-year-old won 17 Man of the Match awards by WhoScored.com, only beaten by Messi's 25, and he finished the league with the second-highest rating of 8.48.

Ronaldo made the fourth-most key passes with 76, behind Nolito (96), Messi (95) and teammate James Rodriguez (77).
