Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has sent an emotional message to his fans, insisting the media must stop "trash talking" and leave him alone.

The 30-year-old was linked to some strange headlines since the break up with his long-standing girlfriend Irina Shayk but now responded with a video message whilst trying to enjoy his holidays after finishing the season as Europe's best goal-scorer.
Here Ronaldo's full message, which he posted on his social media channels:
"Hi fans, this message is for you.
"Well guys, thank you support. This year was a tough one, but you are always there. Be sure that you are always loyal.
"I'm here relaxing, my kid is behind me in the pool and it just came to my mind to do this video.
"You know, I never speak for the press, I never speak about my private life.
"But I want to use this opportunity to set the record straight.
"The last couple of weeks the press tried to say trash about me.
"Day by day that I have a new girlfriend, that I do this, that I do that.
"Just leave me alone, let me do my work properly like I do it every year.
"Don't try to damage my image because it's not going to happen.
"So this message is for you guys. We are still together, day by day, month by month, year by year – thank you guys!"
