Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the International Federation of Football History Statistics' (IFFHS') UEFA Men's Player of the Decade.
The Portugal superstar, who played an instrumental role in helping his national team win the 2016 UEFA European Championship, beat a number of other stars to emerge as the IFFHS' best European player between 2011 and 2020.
Of course, Lionel Messi is often seen as Ronaldo's main rival, but he was not in the running for this specific award as he falls into another region, South America.
The Juventus forward spent a large part of the past decade in a Real Madrid jersey, winning four UEFA Champions League titles, three FIFA Club World Cups, and two La Liga trophies, among other pieces of silverware.
His work in the past decade played a major part in him becoming the highest goalscorer in football history, having beaten Josef Bican's tally of 759 goals recently.
One of his former Real Madrid teammates grabbed second place in the top three, with defender Sergio Ramos being the runner-up, while German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer completed the IFFHS' podium.
