Real Madrid super star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has returned from his knee injury to exhibit the same level of form that he showed last season.
There were not many positives in Real Madrid's friendly loss against Fiorentina on Saturday, but the one big talking point was that Ronaldo scored another goal following his brace in the Supercup victory over Sevilla.
''Without pain everything is much easier,'' Ronaldo told Marca.
Ronaldo's two goals in the Supercup match took his European goal tally to 70 and past Lionel Messi and he followed this up by scoring his third goal in only two appearances this season.
The 29-year-old has won three trophies in 2014, as well as seven individual accolades, which include the 2013 Balon D'Or award, the European Golden Boot and the Pichichi award for La Liga's top goalscorer.
He has also been nominated, along with Manuel Neuer and Arjen Robben, for the UEFA European Player Of The Year award and is the favourite to win the award.
All signs point towards Ronaldo continuing his great form this season and very few people will doubt that 2014 will be the best year of his incredible career.
Following his triumphs in the UEFA Champions League, the Copa Del Rey and the UEFA Supercup, Ronaldo stands the chance to take his collective trophy haul to eight for the year if he can help Real to victory in the Spanish Supercup against Atletico Madrid.
Since arriving at Real Madrid, he has scored 254 goals in 247 official appearances for Real Madrid and 24 in 28 games for the Los Blancos this year.
