The Portuguese superstar receives the award for being the top goalscorer in the league among of all the top divisions in Europe last season.
Ronaldo won the prize ahead of longstanding rival Lionel Messi, who scored 43 goals. Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero finished in third place with 26 strikes.
Ronaldo previously won the award in 2007/08 when he was still at Manchester United, as well as in 2010/11 and 2013/14 as a Los Blancos player.
His 48 goals in La Liga were his best to date after sharing the award with Luis Suarez the previous season, when both players scored 31 strikes. Back in 2010/11, Ronaldo scored 40 goals, while he netted 31 times in 2007/08.
Messi was the first player to win the Golden Shoe three times, lifting it in 2009/10 (34 goals), 2011/12 (50 goals) and 2012/13 (46 goals).
