Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo recently scored his 250th La Liga goal, and he got to the milestone much faster than Lionel Messi did.

The Portuguese, who has had an outstanding scoring record since moving to Los Blancos, needed only 228 games to reach the La Liga 250-goals mark, which has only been achieved by two other footballers: his longstanding rival Messi, and Spanish legend Telmo Zarra.
The latter needed 269 games in Spain's top flight to score his 250 league goals, which is an incredible achievement considering he set the record in the 1950s.
Messi, meanwhile, needed 289 appearances to score 250 La Liga goals, 61 more than Ronaldo.
As a consequence, it comes as no surprise that Ronaldo has the best goals-per-game average, with 1.1 strikes per match.
Zarra, who scored a goal every 0.93 games, follows in second place, while Messi netted 0.87 strikes per match to reach the 250-goal milestone.

However, it has to be mentioned that the Argentine made his debut in La Liga when he was just 17 years old, and will have needed a couple of years to develop into the superstar he is today – just as Ronaldo did when he was a young star at Manchester United.
