Cristiano Ronaldo Confronted By Angry Fan After Juventus No-Show

Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo caused a major stir when he did not take part in a friendly for Juventus in South Korea recently, so much so that an angry fan flew halfway across the world to confront him.

Last month, South Korean fans in attendance at the Bianconeri's 3-3 draw with the K-League All-Stars were disappointed when the 34-year-old did not come off the bench to participate in the match.

At the time, Juve manager Maurizio Sarri insisted the Portuguese superstar was suffering from fatigue, although it was also claimed that Ronaldo was contractually obliged to play at least 45 minutes of the game.

Some sections of the crowd were reportedly so frustrated with the situation that they began to sing Lionel Messi's name, according to GiveMeSport.

The K-League, said to be just as annoyed about Ronaldo not playing in that fixture, accused the Italian club of deception, and proceeded to file a lawsuit against the player, the Bianconeri and the South Korean group that organised the friendly.

With an investigation under way, one fan took it upon himself to fly to Sweden, where Juventus were playing in another pre-season friendly against Atletico Madrid, to interrogate the striker in the reception of the hotel the team was staying at.

GiveMeSport reported that the fan, Kwak Ji-hyuk, pressed Ronaldo for an answer as to why he did not play the match in South Korea, and later posted a video of the incident to YouTube.

As per the BBC last month, supporters who attended the match in South Korea want compensation for their match tickets.
