With the Juventus superstar being considered by many to be one of the greatest players of all time, several current players have revealed that he inspired them growing up.
Kylian Mbappe, who himself is in football's elite bracket these days, was a huge fan of the 35-year-old and was even pictured with his room full of Ronaldo posters as a teenager.
"Well, I've had phases," the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner said at a charity event in January.
"To start, as a child, it was (Zinedine) Zidane. If you're a boy and you're French, your idol is Zidane.
"After that, it was Cristiano (Ronaldo) and I've been lucky enough to face him. Then it was the Brazilian Ronaldo for the way he played.
"I want to leave that sort of a mark with my values, to leave a message in the history of football."

Tottenham Hotspur winger Heung-min Son also revealed this year that he was a fan of Ronaldo.
"Growing up, I was watching Cristiano Ronaldo playing because he was at Manchester United together with (South-Korean midfielder) Pak Ji-sung," he told FourFourTwo.
"I watch a lot of YouTube videos of Ronaldo, he is my idol. He is much better than me."
