While Manchester United made the most expensive signing in January thus far, their new star Bruno Fernandes also became one of the club's highest-paid players in the process.

Fernandes has signed a five-and-and-a-half-year deal with the Red Devils, and will wear the No. 18 shirt at Old Trafford.
According to the Daily Express, he will earn £150 000 (R3 million) at the Manchester club, and is thus United's seventh-highest-paid star.
"I feel very well and I'm very happy to be here. It's an honour for me to represent this club and a dream come true," Fernandes told the club's official website.

Ahead of him are players such as David de Gea and Paul Pogba, who are currently the top earners at the club, pocketing £290 000 (R5.7 million) and £280 000 (R5.5 million) a week, respectively.
The highest-paid star on the club's wage bill, though, is Alexis Sanchez, with United understood to be paying £300 000 (R5.9 million) of his weekly wages despite the player being out on loan at Inter Milan.
