Ten Hag Responds To Boos From Man Utd Fans

Ten Hag Responds To Boos From Man Utd Fans

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has responded to the fans' booing his decision to take off Rasmus Hojlund for Anthony Martial on Saturday.

The Red Devils suffered their third defeat of the Premier League season after going down 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

With the Manchester side trailing 2-0, the Dutch tactician opted to withdraw Hojlund in the 64th minute, much to the disapproval of the home crowd who let out a loud chorus of boos.

United went on to concede another goal but Ten Hag was not upset with the supporters' reaction to the Danish striker coming off.

"He is coming with a small issue and we have to be careful but the reception of the fans was great," Ten Hag declared.

"His game was great and the fans embraced it. He was unlucky with the disallowed goal, it would have been a great afternoon for him.

"It was not the case but he will keep going. He is a strong character as we are as a team and we will push back."

The Red Devils will now turn their attention to Wednesday's UEFA Champions League opener against Bayern Munich.

"It is a great opportunity against a great opponent," he added.

"We are all looking forward to being back in the Champions League where we belong. But you have to fight for it, prove yourself every time as a team and as an individual."
