The Red Devils have only signed Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek in the current transfer window despite linked with a number of targets.
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has reportedly been the club's main target but the Bundesliga club are not looking to let player leave anytime soon.
As a result, the Daily Record have now reported that the Manchester outfit is in talks with Barcelona to sign their 2018 World Cup winner.
While the Catalan giants are looking to offload Dembele permanently, the report claims United are only pushing for a season-long loan.
While English media claim the two clubs are engaged in talks, renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano says both clubs have denied talks.
Liverpool asked for Ousmane Démbélé on loan with buy option on last June, but he decided to stay at Barcelona. There’s no bid from Manchester United - because Démbélé doesn’t want to leave Barça. #MUFC and #FCB both denying talks. ?? #transfers #Dembele
