The record Premier League champions, under new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, are believed to be trying to overhaul their current squad and will need to sell players to successfully achieve that.
It seems Greenwood is one of those that will be leveraged in order to accomplish this despite Ratcliffe stating that the club will make fresh decision regarding the 22-year-old's future, with club executives reportedly recently seen in Madrid talking to potential suitors.
Barcelona sporting director Deco was seen with them, while his current club Getafe and another Madrid-based club in Atletico Madrid are also believed to be keen on negotiating for the one-time England international.
Greenwood has been in fine form for the Deep Blue Ones since making the loan move to the Iberian Peninsula, bagging eight goals and five assists across all competitions. His performances, mostly on the right side of Jose Bordalas' attack, have consequently garnered the attention of their Spanish rivals.
