Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has broken his silence on manager Erik ten Hag after the team's poor start to the season.

The Red Devils' struggles continued on Thursday after drawing 3-3 with FC Porto in the UEFA Europa League, in a game where they were leading 2-0.

Ten Hag's charges have now gone four games without a win all competitions, putting more pressure on Ten Hag's future with the club.

To make matters worse, Ratcliffe opted against backing Ten Hag publicly and instead revealed the decision will lie with the management will make the decision.

"I think I don't want to answer that. I like Erik. He's a very good coach but at the end of the day it's not my call." Ratcliffe told BBC Sport.

"It's the management team that's running Manchester United that have to decide how we best run the team in many different respects. But that team that's running Manchester United has only been together since June or July.

"They weren't there in January, February, March or April – [CEO] Omar [Berrada], [sporting director] Dan Ashworth - they only arrived in July.

"They've only been there - you can count it in weeks almost - they've not been there a long time, so they need to take stock and make some sensible decisions."
