A former Manchester United star is one of a number of players and coaches who have been called to court over suspicions of match-fixing during his time in Spain in 2011.

On Tuesday, former Red Devils midfielder Ander Herrera was one of 42 defendants who appeared in court after being charged over a match between his former club Real Zaragoza and Levante in 2011.
The game, which was played on 21 May that year, saw Zaragoza avoid relegation after recording a 2-1 win, but suspicions were raised after it was reportedly revealed that a number of playing staff and coaches had received "suspect payments".
According to the Daily Mail, Zaragoza's players and coaches were given an amount of about €965 000 (R15 million) with which to bribe Levante's players to throw the match.

Los Manos went on to win the fixture courtesy of a brace from former Atletico Madrid star Gabi Fernandez, ensuring the club's survival at the expense of Deportivo de La Coruna.
The investigation into the match-fixing allegations was previously abandoned, but the case was reopened after an appeal by the state prosecutor.
Gabi and former coach Javier Aguirre are also among the accused who appeared in court without comment on Tuesday.

In a separate match-fixing investigation in May, former Real Madrid and Spain international Raul Bravo was one of a number of former professionals who were arrested after a suspected match-fixing ring was bust.
