Ten Hag Sends Message To Sancho After Penalty Miss

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has sent a message to Jadon Sancho, who missed a penalty in the Community Shield against Manchester City.

The pair had a falling out last season, which resulted in Sancho joining Borussia Dortmund on loan in the January transfer window.

Sancho is now back in Manchester after Ten Hag confirmed they had patched things up ahead of the new campaign.

The Englishman and Jonny Evans were two players who missed a penalty in the shoot-out as City picked up the first trophy on offer.

Despite the miss, Ten Hag insists he still has a lot of faith in the 24-year-old.

"I had no doubts about him," Ten Hag said, as per Goal.

"He's a very good penalty taker and today he missed, but that's part of the game. I am sure in the future he will take penalties."

Ten Hag also backed Marcus Rashford to get among the goals this season after missing two big chances on Saturday.

"I think he [Rashford] was several times in very good positions," he added.

"I'm very pleased he is getting in those positions. Keep going, keep making those movements and the team will make those movements, he will score goals.

"He's experienced enough to deal with this and once he scores one, then the goals will come."
