Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reportedly been accused of doping during his time at Juventus.
The former head coach of the Swedish athletics team, Ulf Karlsson, believes Ibrahimovic used performance-enhancing drugs while he was a player for the Serie A side.
"Zlatan put on 10 kilos in six months during his time at Juventus. I think he was doping, that's how it seems to me," Karlsson said in an interview with Sportbladet.
Karlsson made his claim during a conference in Varmlands, and when asked if he stood by his accusation, he was unequivocal in his response.
"Yes, I am convinced of it," he answered.
"He put on 10 kilos of muscle in six months. It's impossible to do that in such a short space of time."
The Swedish star is yet to respond to the allegations, but the press officer of the Swedish Football Association, Niklas Bodell, has slammed Karlsson's comments.
"To say something like that without (having proof), that's, to me, very startling and surprising," Bodell told Expressen.
"I don't want to speculate or touch upon Karlsson's claim, but it sounds completely absurd to my ears.
"It's a very, very serious accusation."
