PSG Stars 'In Hot Water' After Derby Controversy

Four Paris Saint-Germain stars are believed to be in hot water over a chant they did following their recent derby victory.

Four Paris Saint-Germain stars are reportedly set to face disciplinary action for allegedly inciting a discriminatory chant after their massive derby win recently.

Last weekend, Les Parisiens returned to winning ways in the league as they inflicted a 4-0 win over arch-rivals Olympique Marseille in the latest edition of Le Classique.

The excitement of beating their rivals seemed to have got the better of some of the PSG stars, though, namely the French trio of Randal Kolo Muani, Ousmane Dembele and Layvin Kurzawa, as well as Morocco's Achraf Hakimi, who were seen starting an anti-Marseille chant after the match.

The incident is believed to have caused mass hysteria within France, with even the country's sports minister lambasting the chants.

According to the Ligue de Football Professionnel, the aforementioned players have now been summoned by the institution's disciplinary committee.

The committee's next session is poised to be scheduled for 5 October, and it is there where the four players are expected to be handed a suspension for their behaviour on the weekend.

Former Nigeria left-back Taye Taiwo was given a one-match ban for a similar incident that occurred back in 2011, when he was deemed to have shouted anti-PSG chants after a Marseille League Cup victory over Montpellier.
