The French midfielder will be eligible to return to professional football in March 2025, and it seems that a number of teams are preparing to potentially land his services.

The 31-year-old recently saw his contract with Juventus terminated, but now another historically great European side are said to be eager to sign him – Olympique Marseille.

One of Pogba's national team teammates, Adrien Rabiot, has been vocal about the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner joining him at the Stade Velodrome, and according to RMC Sport, there is also an appetite on the club's side to sign him.

Majority shareholder in the club, Frank McCourt, is believed to have been a fan of the player since his performance for Les Bleus against Germany at the 2016 UEFA European Championship.

Club sporting director Mehdi Benatia, who is a former teammate of Pogba, is aware of the player's abilities and thinks they can help elevate the Olympians.

Marseille seemingly has a strong chance of signing the Lagny-sur-Marne native because the same report has suggested that Pogba himself is keen to play for the French giants.

It is understood that he wants to return to the national team, and playing in his home country with a club of Marseille's stature provides him with the opportunity to do that as they continue to vie for league titles and look to compete in the UEFA Champions League.

It remains to be seen who will ultimately sign the player who was once the most expensive footballer of all time, but it looks as though Marseille have a strong chance of winning the race.
