Transfer Update: Angel Di Maria

Transfer Update: Angel Di Maria

With Angel Di Maria confirmed to be leaving Paris Saint-Germain, there seems to have been a big new development over his future.

The Argentina international has been linked with a move to Juventus in Serie A, but, if reports are to be believed, the 34-year-old could be edging towards a return to Spanish football.

Di Maria made 190 appearances for Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014 and contributed to an impressive 120 goals before being sold to Manchester United when Los Blancos moved for James Rodriguez following his exploits for Colombia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the departing PSG winger has been in talks with Xavi Hernandez's Barcelona over a possible free-agent move to the Catalan club, a side he has previously been linked with.

While Juve have been negotiating a deal with Di Maria, it appears the ex-Red Devils attacker favours a switch to Spain.

Barcelona's interest in the left-footed superstar comes as Ousmane Dembele inches closer to an exit from the Camp Nou, with Xavi needing to replace the pacey French winger if he leaves.

Although Brazil international Raphinha has also been discussed as a priority target, his transfer fee reportedly makes the possibility of Barcelona striking a deal with Leeds United complicated.
