LaLiga President Javier Tebas has revealed Barcelona cannot sign Robert Lewandowski at the moment due to their financial issues.
Lewandowski has already publicly announced his desire to leave Bayern Munich for Barcelona with one year left on his current deal.
The Bundesliga champions, meanwhile, have revealed they have no plans to sell the Polish striker, but reports claim he could if he triggers a loophole of FIFA's regulations that would allow him to buy out his own contract.
Tebas has claimed that Barcelona will need to sell players if they are to sign Lewandowski and stay in the Financial Fair Play regulations.
"Barcelona know what they have to do. He (Barcelona president Joan Laporta) knows perfectly our rules of economic control and his financial situation.
"The rules are to avoid major economic problems in the entities. I do not know if he will sell De Jong, Pedri or Pepito Pérez. He knows what he has to do, sell assets and earn more."
