Gerard Pique has reportedly responded to Xavi Hernandez telling him he is no longer needed at Barcelona.

According to Spanish publication Sport, the tactician, two weeks ago, communicated to his ex-colleague and current centre-back Gerard Pique that his services are no longer required at the club.
His physical condition coupled with his off-field conduct has left Xavi believing the defender will not be a key player for him going forward, with it thought that the manager's decision came days before Pique's split from long-time partner Shakira.
It is claimed the head coach is particularly concerned with Pique's numerous business interests outside of the sport, which have earned him criticism in Spain in recent months.

Xavi, wanting his players to be fully committed to his project, is understood to have told the 35-year-old directly that he will not be included in his future plans.
Responding to his manager's decision, Pique has reportedly vowed to return to his physical best and relieve himself of some of his off-field commitments in order to do so.
