Despite a disappointing 2021/22 campaign overall, the Blaugrana ended the season second in LaLiga behind winners and rivals Real Madrid following the appointment of Xavi Hernandez late last year.

With plenty of transfer rumours surrounding the club, the head coach and his staff could be heading into next season with a new-look squad, and certainly with a fresh Nike and Spotify-sponsored home strip, which was officially unveiled on Friday.

On their website, Barcelona said they are "showcasing an innovative, yet simple and elegant kit for the 2022/23 season, inspired by the Barcelona Olympics in the year that the city is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the transformation. The new jersey harks back to the landmark event and is being presented today, Friday 3 June, under the tagline 'The Flame Lives On'. Its design evokes the spirit of that period of regeneration and redefinition, a time when Barcelona opened up to the world and the world opened up to Barcelona.

"30 years ago, the city took a huge leap forward into modernity by hosting the Olympic Games, but at the same time conserving its spirit and roots. As the present era is also one of such major changes to the first team squad, the club has decided to draw on and share that Olympic spirit at a time when its efforts are very much focused on the future.

"The jersey also includes the logo of the Club's main partner, Spotify, on the front for the first time, as well as a message of solidarity in support of refugees with the UNHCR/ACNUR logo below the number on the back."

Here are seven players Xavi reportedly wants to bring to Barcelona next season:
