The final eight clubs remaining in Africa's premier club competition now know their fate for the remainder of the tournament.

While North Africa was not well represented in the knockout stages of the previous iteration of the competition, this season there are as many as five teams from the region. Perhaps the biggest of them all is the reigning champions, Al Ahly. They finished second behind Orlando Pirates in Group C and will consequently face Al Hilal in the quarter-finals.

The Buccaneers, on the other hand, have been pitted against MC Alger. They are one of two sides to finish the group stages undefeated and will be looking to continue that streak while aiming to capture a second continental title.
