Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing a striker who would break the Premier League transfer fee record this off-season.
According to The Athletic, the Gunners are massive admirers of Alexander Isak and are keen to lure him to the Emirates Stadium during the upcoming transfer window. The north Londoners have been linked with a plethora of forwards in recent windows, with the English outfit rumoured to be interested in signing the likes of Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins.
Supposed deals for the Slovenian and the Englishman did not materialise, and currently, Mikel Arteta is suffering from a deficit of forwards due to Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz all being injured.
The 13-time English champions are understood to still be keen on landing a forward, and among their top targets is Newcastle United's Swede. The Solna native has scored 22 goals in 31 matches in all competitions this campaign, and it is alleged that Arsenal want to bring his form to England's capital.
However, the same report claims that the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, and Chelsea are also keen on landing the Scandinavian sensation. He will not come cheap for whoever considers themselves a serious suitor, though, as it is believed that the Magpies will be looking for a fee in the region of £150 million (R3.5 billion) if any other club is to get them to the negotiating table.
If Arsenal, or any other English club, are to pay that fee, it would make him the most expensive Premier League player of all time.
