With Percy Tau set to part ways with Al Ahly, the Egyptian side have reportedly already identified an ideal replacement for the South African star.

It has been extensively reported that the Red Devils are looking to part ways with the South African attacker. The record African champions and head coach Marcel Koller have seemingly become disillusioned with the 30-year-old, and he is one of the club's foreign players they wish to sever ties with during the January transfer window.
One of the rumoured stumbling blocks in parting ways with the Witbank native is the attacker's insistence on receiving the $600,000 (R11.2 million) remaining on his contract. The former Brighton and Hove Albion attacker is believed to want the entire amount, while Al Ahly see the figure as too exorbitant.
Should the two parties come to a mutual agreement, however, it appears the 33-time Egyptian champions already know who they will replace Tau with.
According to WinWin, the African Club of the Century are keen on recruiting Brazilian Ewerton from Czech side Banik Ostrava.
The 28-year-old has been in remarkable form since signing for the European side, scoring 13 goals and providing six assists in the 22 appearances he has made so far. The Macapa native is believed to be Al Ahly's most prominent target for the wing position, but they are also reportedly keen on signing a striker as well.

A foreign star who is set to stay at the Cairo International Stadium for at least the rest of the season, however, is Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul.
The veteran defender has missed the first half of the 2024/25 campaign due to a ruptured Achilles, but the same report claims that the club are keen to re-register him for the remainder of the season.
