Neymar Drops Hint On Brazil Future After World Cup Exit

Neymar Drops Hint On Brazil Future After World Cup Exit

Brazil star Neymar has dropped a hint over his future with the national side after their shock exit at the FIFA World Cup.

The five-time world champions bowed out at the quarter-final stage for a second straight tournament after losing on penalties to Croatia.

Neymar Equals Pele's Record As Brazil Crash Out

It should have been a memorable night for Neymar, who equalled Pele's all-time scoring record of 77 goals for the national side.

The Paris Saint-Germain star was quite emotional after the defeat but revealed he is unsure about continuing with the national side.

"Honestly, I do not know. I think talking now is bad because of the heat of the moment. Maybe I'm not thinking straight," Neymar said after the game, as per ESPN.

"To say that this is the end would be rushing myself, but I don't guarantee anything either. Let's see what happens going forward.

"I want to take this time to think about it, think about what I want for myself. I will not close the door to playing with Brazil, nor do I say 100% that I'll come back."

Neymar did not get to take a penalty in the shoot-out, although he was scheduled to take the fifth penalty if Marquinhos had not missed.

"He should have taken the fifth and decisive penalty," Coach Tite said,

"The player with the most quality and mental skills is the one to be in charge in the moment when the pressure is high."
