African FIFA World Cup Qualifying Wrap

Nigeria 0-1 Central African Republic

Nigeria's perfect start in Group C was brought to a halt after a shock narrow 1-0 loss against Central African Republic at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.

The Super Eagles' big guns, Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester City and Victor Osimhen of Napoli were kept at bay by CAR, who snatched a late winner in the last minute courtesy of Karl Namnganda.

Tunisia 3-0 Mauritania

Tunisia maintained their perfect start in Group B after thrashing Mauritania 3-0 at Stade Olympique de Rades.

Ellyes Skhiri and Wahbi Khazri gave Tunisia a two-goal cushion in the first stanza and Seifeddine Jaziri put the game to bed for the Carthage Eagles in the last four minutes.

Equatorial Guinea 2-0 Zambia

Ten-man Zambia lost for the second time in Group B after a 2-0 defeat to Equatorial Guinea at Nuevo Estadio de Malabo.

Chipolopolo had a horrible start after they were reduced to ten men in the 25th minute following the red-card of Prince Mumba.

The hosts capitalised on their numerical advantage, as Saul Coco-Bassey gave them the lead ten minutes later and Emilio Nsue sealed the deal for Equatorial in the last three minutes.

Mali 5-0 Kenya

Unbeaten Mali opened a two-point gap at the top of Group E after hammering Kenya 5-0 courtesy of a hat-trick by Ibrahima Kone at Stade d'Agadir.

Adama Traore got an early goal for Mali before Kone completed his hat-trick in the first stanza, as the hosts went to the half-time break with a commanding 4-0 lead and Moussa Doumbia rounded off the thrashing with the fifth goal in the last five minutes.

Rwanda 0-1 Uganda

Unbeaten Uganda got their first victory in Group E after a narrow 1-0 win over Rwanda in the East African derby at Stade Regional Nyamirambo.

Fahad Bayo broke the deadlock for the visitors just before the half-time break and that proved to be the winner for Milutin Sredojevic's charges.

Democratic Republic of Congo 2-0 Madagascar

Democratic Republic of Congo, who are unbeaten in Group J, finally got their first win after beating Madagascar 2-0 at Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecote.

Chadrac Akolo broke the deadlock for DR Congo ten minutes before the half-time break before Dieumerci Mbokani secured the three points ten minutes before time.

Tanzania 0-1 Benin

Unbeaten Benin opened a two-point lead at the top of Group J after edging Tanzania 1-0 at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Steve Mounie snatched what proved to be the winner for Benin 18 minutes before time.

Liberia 1-2 Cape Verde Islands

Cape Verde Islands claimed their first win in Group C after coming from behind to beat Liberia 2-1 at Ohene Djan Sports Stadium.

Van-Dave Harmon broke the deadlock for Liberia on the stroke of half-time but Jamiro Monteiro levelled matters for the visitors early in the second stanza and Garry Rodrigues snatched the winner for Cape Verde in stoppage time.
